:: Training Methods

1. HAND TO HAND COMBAT

Hand to hand combat is the most important part of the training because it contains elements which contribute to the development and the understanding of the attributes needed in the combat in the continuation of the program.

Later in the course our students learn about a more spontaneous and ”live” methods of training, which allow them to express themselves with their bodies. This is the only was an individual can adapt to a ever -changing combat situation, which is never pre-determined or fixed as our opponent never cooperates with us.

During the course you will be taught  4 different combat distances, but the emphasis will be on the third and short one, which is the most important one of all.

The basic idea behind the hand to hand combat is to survive – it enables us to be efficient in various psychophysical situations against one or more opponents.

2. STICK COMBAT

The second segment of our training is just an important as it improves our biomechanics, coordinational skills, ability to focus, understanding of concepts, adaptation to different combat situations…

It is based on tactical/strategical principles used in real life situations, in hand to hand combat and in an armed combat. The techniques learnt durning the course have to be psychophysically “trained” as they are very important and vital for a real life combat.Therefore, we will not repeat techniques which are useless; you will learn the simple way of handling this weapon and use only that which actually works without any chauvinistic techniques because the street is not a theatre.

The techniques and the handling of this weapon are adaptable to other types of weapons of different dimensions because the principles are universal.

3. KNIFE COMBAT

The third and the most difficult part of our entire systems is the knife fighting. We teach only qualified instructors and highly advanced students who have a certain knowledge and certain skills and are over 21 years old. This type of training is always done under the guidance of the Head Instructor.

Knife fighting, besides all other attributes that this weapon offers us,

is about the reality of a combat which is important and necessary for the proper protection in real life combat situations. It is a training of overcoming obstacles in the way of our understanding of the real combat. It removes any doubt found in different combat sports and traditional arts because mistakes are not allowed as they would undoubtely leave consequences.

Knife fighting is about learning the theory, tactics, understanding of different types of human reaction and aggression threatening our lives out on the streets, concepts dealing with combat distances, covering where the student learns how to use different types of objects or equalizers for self protection in case of an armed assault or an assault with multiple attackers.

The last part is the most difficult and the most demanding but it is what guarentees us survival in a real combat. It has an impact on hand to hand combat because it shows it in a completely different way than we saw it at the very beginning.
